- Cancellation does not erase completed evidence merely because coverage ends.
- Archiving or deleting a product does not cancel the workspace subscription.
- Paid amounts are generally not refundable under the published terms, subject to stated exceptions and applicable law.
Separate the bill from the evidence record
When people ask whether they can leave a tool, they often mean two things: will the next charge stop, and will the work they already did remain accessible? Treat those as separate checks. Being able to open a report does not tell you that a subscription has been cancelled.
ConformOps's terms of service explain that cancellations and downgrades follow the paid period and preserve completed product records in historical form. The pricing page explains the difference between a single Full Assessment and ongoing Continuous coverage.
What changes when recurring coverage ends
Historical access lets you read the evidence already recorded and use the exports available under that access. It does not keep daily monitoring, new named releases or ongoing assessment work running. Reading an old record and continuing an active service are different entitlements.
For example, ending coverage after reviewing release 1.4 does not turn that result into an assessment of release 1.5. The old record still says what it said about its own inputs. If you keep shipping changes, you still need a way to maintain the evidence and carry out the work your product requires.
| Action | Billing consequence | Evidence consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Cancel recurring coverage | Takes effect according to the paid period | Completed records remain historical; ongoing coverage ends |
| Archive a product | Does not cancel the workspace subscription | Preserves history and ends that product's active coverage assignment |
| Permanently delete a product | Does not cancel the workspace subscription | Removes the product evidence chain through the confirmed deletion process |
| Request a refund | Subject to the order, published terms and applicable law | Not the same request as cancellation or deletion |
Check these things before confirming a change
Have the workspace Owner review the billing change. Note its effective date, the products that will keep coverage and the amount shown before confirmation. If the summary does not match your intention, resolve that before accepting it.
Download the completed records your organisation needs and check that someone can open them. Keep the release and run identities with the files. Also record who will own any monitoring or reporting work after the service stops. A cancellation screen does not transfer that responsibility to another person.
The software exit checklist gives you a simple record of those checks. The portable evidence guide covers what to include in the copy itself.
Do not confuse retention with unlimited access
Historical access remains subject to the service terms, authorised workspace membership and your own deletion choices. It is not a promise that an account can never be suspended, that the service will always be available or that a deleted product can be restored.
Permanent deletion has its own confirmation and retention acknowledgement. Read the deletion explanation before using it. If your aim is simply to stop future charges, deleting evidence is not a substitute for changing the subscription.
What to ask any provider before signing
Ask for the renewal date, the cancellation method, the effective date and the files you can take with you. Then ask whether those exports remain available after the paid period and what happens if an authorised colleague leaves the company. Get answers that name the plan you are buying.
A useful exit policy should be understandable before purchase. You should not need to infer it from a feature list or assume that a monthly price displayed on a page means a monthly commitment.
Frequently asked questions
Will ConformOps delete my evidence if I cancel?
Completed product records are not deleted merely because recurring coverage ends. They remain available as read only historical records under the service terms. Permanent deletion is a separate confirmed action.
Does archiving a product stop subscription charges?
No. Archiving releases that product's coverage assignment but does not cancel the Organisation subscription. The Owner must manage billing separately.
Can I get a refund for unused ConformOps time?
The published terms say amounts already paid are not refundable unless the checkout or order says otherwise or law requires it. Cancellation and refund are separate questions. Check the terms applicable to your purchase.
